Dr. David Dixon, MD is the inventor of DermaWound® and Founder, CEO & President of ProgressiveDoctors.com, a web site that for over 21 years has specialized in acute and chronic wound care with a special emphasis on: diabetic wounds, pressure sores and venous stasis leg ulcers.

Dr. Dixon received his undergraduate degree from Fisk University in Nashville, and his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Ohio. In addition to exploring cutting-edge research activities in universal wound care, he is the Medical Director of Force Options 360 – a private training facility for civilian and military contractors and Victory Medical Services – a home health care staffing agency.

Dr. Dixon has been issued patents on novel wound care fabrics and materials, skin-grafting instrumentation and disposable infection control devices in over 7 countries. His grandfather, Morgan Maxwell Sr., was the first African-American School Administrator/Principal in the State of Arizona and was the first of his color to have a public school named after him in the state.

His father, Dr. Melvin Dixon, Sr. was a dentist for over 50 years before his passing in 2010 – and his mother Kathryn was the first African-American hired by a Senator on Capitol Hill (Sen. Barry Goldwater) since Reconstruction in the early 1950’s. Dr. Dixon currently resides in Tucson, Arizona with Andrea – his wife of 18 years (a Speech and Language Pathologist) and their dog Ginger; and enjoys listening to and attempting to play a blues guitar in the style of Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Buddy Guy.
